Flyway: Journal of Writing and Environment

There are presently no open calls for submissions

Flyway's reading period is September 1 to May 1.

We consider unsolicited fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art submissions. We are particularly interested in pieces that delve into the environment or human place, but submissions of any subject will be considered. We encourage simultaneous submissions, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Payment: 1-year subscription to Flyway.
Response Time: We make every effort to reply within four months, but our response time may occasionally be slower as we are entirely staffed by volunteers.

Until we have responded, please do not submit more than:
*5 poems (please combine in one document)
OR
*1 short story (1000-7000 words)
OR
*1 essay (1000-7000 words)
OR
*3 short-shorts (up to 1000 words each; please specify fiction or nonfiction)
OR
*1 novella/essayvella (over 7000 words)
